On Sunday, December 7, CTV and Aliant are hosting the 45th annual Christmas Daddies Telethon from 11-6 p.m. across the Maritimes.
Each year, the success of the Telethon relies on the dedicated volunteers who happily lend a hand during the event. Volunteers are being coordinated by the Aliant Pioneer Volunteers, so if you are interested in helping out for a few hours answering the phones or other volunteer duties, please click here. The Telethon will be broadcast from the Aliant offices at Scotia Square (Halifax) and Mapleton Road (Moncton). A pre-telethon training package will be available to all volunteers and additional training will be provided during the day of the telethon.
The Telethon raises funds for deserving children at Christmas time. The funds are distributed by The Salvation Army.
In 2007, close to 200 volunteers helped answer thousands of calls during the seven-hour show. Thanks to their efforts, the Telethon raised over $874,370 that went towards helping children in the region.
