More than 200 Aliant Pioneer Volunteers, employees and their families filled the Aliant Customer Care Centres in Halifax and Moncton this past Sunday to help raise $892,422 for the 45th Christmas Daddies Telethon. The success of this year's Telethon will provide toys, gifts and necessities such as clothing and food to over 16,000 children across the region. The Salvation Army will distribute funds raised by the Telethon.
Of the $892,422 raised, $457,455 came from mainland Nova Scotia, while New Brunswick raised $183,600, Prince Edward Island brought in $38,553 and Cape Breton raised $203,685. Donations from the rest of the country accounted for the remaining $9,129.
