A message from Mike Costello, VP Customer Service Operations

2011 marks the Pioneers 100th Anniversary. To celebrate the Pioneers Centennial, the Bell Aliant Pioneers continue to give back to their local communities through grassroots projects and programs and also took on a significant Centennial Project.

  • The Acadia Chapter was successful in being awarded a Centennial Grant which contributed to every grade 4 class across Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island receiving books..
  • The New Brunswick Chapter provided over 11,000 lbs of food to local Food Banks all across the province through the Dish It Up -Feeding Families Healthy Food project.
  • The Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter held a Pioneers SMART Board contest for local schools with twelve schools being awarded a SMART Board and the remaining entries received a $500 donation towards purchasing a SMART Board.

One hundred years ago the first Annual Meeting took place in Boston, Massachusetts and 100 years later the Pioneers celebrated their Centennial in the same city.  During the celebrations, awards were given to Chapters/Councils and Clubs who went above and beyond to make an immediate tangible change.
