On April 16, 2012 Bell Aliant employees and Pioneers volunteers launched a Personal Care Item Drive Project that recognized both National Volunteer Week and Mental Health Week. More than 10,000 personal care items were gathered and donated to more than 16 mental health organizations across the region. The demand for these items – things like shampoo, soap, and razors – is high, and our generous donations will make a significant impact.
Over and above the donation of personal care items, the Bell Aliant Pioneers gave gift certificates and presented cheques to support mental health organizations, including a $5,000 donation from the Newfoundland and Labrador Pioneer Chapter 105 to support organizations like Choices for Youth and Street Reach.
Congratulations to all on a very successful initiative!
