Exploits Pioneers partner with community group for backpacks project
by Anna Ebsary

Articles published in the Advertiser for Exploits Backpacks for Kids project

Bell Aliant Pioneers Exploits Club in Grand Falls-Winsor partnered with others in the community for the annual Backpacks for Schools project and received media attention for their efforts. The Advertiser featured the story in the Community News section of their newspaper.

The Status of Women Council held a barbecue and raised $300 and donated to the Pioneers for their back to school project. On Wednesday, September 21, 2011, Exploits Pioneer Club President Bob King presented the backpacks to the Youth 2000 Center. On hand for the presentation were: Melissa Power, co-ordinator of programs and promotions Youth 2000 Center; April Skinner, director Youth and Employment programs for Youth Network and Exploits Valley YMCA; Erica Stride, office manager of the Exploits Valley Community Coalition; Stephanie Bartlett, assistant administrator of Status of Women.

Another great project that supports educational needs. Great job Exploits Pioneers!
